Saparmyrat Atabayev wins 2nd Al-Beruniy International Chess Tournament Futures 2025, Iniyan second
IM Saparmyrat Atabayev (TKM) and GM Iniyan Pa scored 7/9 each at 2nd Al-Beruniy International Chess Tournament Futures 2025. Saparmyrat won the tournament on tie-breaks. Iniyan was placed second. They drew their fifth round battle against each other. The total prize fund of the Futures group was US$ 13000. The top three prizes were US$ 3500, 2500 and 2000 along with a trophy each. GM Mukhiddin Madaminov (UZB) won the Masters section scoring 6.5/9. Total prize fund of the Masters group was US$ 37700. Top three prizees were $10000, $8000 and $6000. GM Bardiya Daneshvar (IRI) became the winner of the Challengers section. He scored an unbeaten 6/9. Total prize in the Challengers was US$ 18000. Top three prizes were $5000, $4000 and $3000.

The ten player round-robin tournament included 5 GMs, an IM, a WGM, 2 WIMs and a FM from five countries across the world in the Futures group. The nine-day nine round Round-Robin tournament was organized by Uzbekistan Chess Federation at International Chess Academy in Tashkent, Uzbekistan from 3rd to 11th February 2025. The time control of the event 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment per move.
