Subhrajit Dey wins 3rd HDCA Rating Open 2025

Five players - Subhrajit Dey, Rupam Mukherjee, Kishan Kumar, Piyush Kumar and Ayush Das scored 8/9 each at 3rd HDCA Rating Open 2025. Subhrajit won the tournament due to better tie-break scores. The remaining four were placed second to fifth respectively. Among them, Subhrajit, Rupam and Piyush remained undefeated. The total prize fund of the tournament was ₹405000. The top three prizes were ₹71000, ₹40000 and ₹25000 along with a trophy each. The five-day nine round Rating Open tournament was organized by Hazaribag District Chess Association at Angel's High School in Hazaribag, Jharkhand from 11th to 15th May 2025. Rupam Mukherjee was the sole leader 7.5/8 heading into the final round. Nine players were trailing by a half point at 7/8 each. Shaon Chowdhury lost to Subhrajit Dey and the latter became champion. FM Abhishek Das drew against Rupam who secured second place. Nigash G suffered defeat versus Kishan Kumar who finished third.

A total of 501 players took part from all over the country. The five-day nine round Rating Open tournament was organized by Hazaribag District Chess Association at Angel's High School in Hazaribag, Jharkhand from 11th to 15th May 2025. The time control of the event was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment per move.
